Programme - Monday, June 27th 2011

Monday will be Fakultätentag, the day all colleges and institutes of the University will open their doors for you. A variety of offers and events will take you back to your time in Heidelberg and at the same time give you the chance to discuss the latest trends and developments within the subject areas. There will be plenty opportunities to revive old contacts and make new ones.

The following is an alphabetical overview of all events at Colleges and Institutes as well as from internal and external organizations. Some of the events do have a special subject-related focus, but in general the offers are open to all alumni.

    DaF Reunion with afternoon program; further events during the week of festivities - program
  • Institut für Papyrologie
    Germany's third largest collection of papyrus displays its treasures: about 10000 originals, the oldest exhibits are up to 2300 years old

    Lecture by Prof. Barbara Mittler "Of Big Hands and Little Feet, Women (and Men) in China, Yesterday and Today"

    "What about...?" Lecture and discussion by and with Annette Friedrich, Director of the City Planning Office: "How did Heidelberg change during the last years and decades"
  • Themenführung "Magister, Philister und Scholaren"
    An entertaining stroll through six centuries of Heidelberg University and student life, including visits to the festive Old Lecture Hall and the historic Student Prison, as well as the University Library and St. Peter's Church.
  • Themenführung "Neuenheimer Feld: The best is yet to come"
    The Neuenheimer Feld as constant evolution of an elite university. Kristian Willenbacher shows you around the young Heidelberg campus and district
  • Universitätsarchiv - "Dusty Excellence?"
    Guided tour of the University archives with insights into the old student records of the participants

    Guided tour of the Prinzhorn Collection followed by a round of talks (optional)
  • Zentrum für Altertumswissenschaften (ZAW)
    Guided tour of the Uruk-Warka-Collection in Heidelberg, displaying exhibits of a worldwide significant importance!
  • Zentrum für Astronomie Heidelberg (ZAH)
    "Uni(verse) for Everybody! Halbe Heidelberger Sternstunden" Astornomical lunch breaks during the summer semester - program
